To Whom it May Concern,

At the October 4, 2006 meeting of the Eight Streets Neighborhood Association, Felino Samson, presented his new restaurant concept (ÒPopsÓ), which will be located at 560 Tremont St, Boston, MA. He came to the monthly association meeting to ask for our support for adding outdoor seating to the restaurant.

Mr. SamsonÕs concept is of a classic neighborhood bistro with moderately priced food. He presented diagrams and plans which show how they will be renovating the space to be a warmer and more open space. Mr. Samson would like to add outdoor seating to the restaurant to provide patrons with a choice of indoor or outdoor seating during the warmer months. The proposed outdoor seating would include a bench for 5 people on their lower level property near the front door and seating for 12 people at 3 tables on the city sidewalk.

Neighbors expressed concern about seating impeding too far out into the sidewalk as to impede foot traffic. Mr Felino assured members that seating would be kept close to the restaurant and that there would be at least 6-8 feet of clearance from the tables to the edge of the sidewalk.

The Eight Streets Membership voted to support the restaurant concept of Pops and is not opposed to Mr Samson adding the proposed outdoor seating as presented in their plans at the meeting, as long as the city ensures that seating does not expand too far into the sidewalk as to impede foot traffic.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns on this subject.

Thank you.

Yours,
