Issue —

Ticketing during loading and unloading has become out of control on Shawmut. The Mayor is creating more pressure to ticket double parking on Tremont and Shawmut Ave. There is no loading zone on Shawmut and the 2 hour parking spots are creating a big problem with cars not moving.

• Need Loading Zone on Shawmut Ave. 5 space loading zone near Bradford. Painted Yellow to deter illegal parking.
• Change 2 hour parking to 30 minute parking.
• Change 2 hour parking times from 8am — 6pm to 10am — 7pm.
• Move Handicapped Ramp on the corner of Bond Street and Hanson Street moved closer to the corner of Bond street.
• Add one hour metered spaces on both sides of Tremont St (from Dartmouth St to Clarendon). Reverting to residential usage at 6pm.

Discussion —

• Business owners are just as guilty as others that they are taking up parking spaces. They park in metered spots and don’t move. Businesses can get resident stickers so they can park in resident spots. This will be brought up at the next meeting.
• What have businesses done to arrange for parking for their customers from the local lots? Not a practical solution, not many people will go to the lots to do run in run out shopping.
• What ever happened to reviewing the need for all the Handicapped spots, can this be added to the BTD requests.
• Need to discuss Street sweeping need more options. Trucks will most likely park in front of stores anyway.
• Can we get angled parking on Shawmut?
• Doug and Tim to review David’s plans and come up with proposal for review at next meeting.

Will Woodruff —

Memorandum of Understanding has been signed; all the environmental clean-up issues have been resolved. Public comment period has been extended to April 25^th.

Community concerns — Loading dock on Warren Ave will be closed to all except for loading large Art objects. Loading areas will be in the Druker garage for large trucks, Tremont Street will have two loading zones. BTD will do cutaways on Tremont Street, first loading dock will be large enough for 2 24ft trucks and there will be a loading area for cars and small trucks in front of restaurant.

Resident parking- there will be a net gain of 50 resident spaces for South End residents within the garage.

Another loading zone will be created in front of the Ballet and there will be a loading/unloading zone on the side of the Ballet on Warren. All will revert to resident at night.

South End Clean — Up

Date set for April 29^th (note since this meeting the date has moved to May 20^th.

No volunteer to pick up equipment and drop off equipment. The association will not be coordinating an event for the clean up. There was a suggestion that perhaps we have a Block party in Fall.
