Eight Streets Neighborhood Association
2 May 2001 Meeting Minutes
Greeting & Introductions.
Annual Election: The returning slate of Tim Kozlowski (President) John McLachlan (Vice President) and Peter Chin (Treasurer) was unanimously re-elected.
Presentation on proposed decks for 35 Milford St.:
Paul Morton presented photographs and architectural drawings of proposed decks for 35 Milford. No abutters attended to voice concerns. The decks seeming reasonable (4x10, one on each of four floors), the membership voted unanimously to send a letter indicating that we do not oppose their construction (letter sent 5/3; CC to Mr. Morton).
Presentation of proposed sidewalk seating for The Dish:
Christine Didiak (one of the owners) and her architect presented plans for 24 outdoor seats while allowing for a four ft. pedestrian walkway. The seating area would be "roped-off" and not extend over the hollow sidewalk section of Milford St. In response to strong member concerns about noise, Ms. Didiak agreed to have the outdoor seating cease at 11:00 PM (no one to remain outside past 11:00). The membership voted by majority to send a letter to the licensing board indicating that we do not oppose the proposal as presented. (Letter sent 5/3, CC to Ms. Didiak).
Presentation on proposed decks for 40 Hanson St.:
Architects Colin Flavin and Jason Bibbins, along with their attorney Edw. Gellis, presented photographs and architectural drawings of proposed decks and a replacement dormer for 40 Hanson St. No abutters were attended to voice concerns. Mr. Gellis indicated that all abutters were contacted. The four decks seeming reasonable (varying sizes but none very large and one quite small), and the dormer an improvement without being too large, the membership voted unanimously to send a letter indicating that we do not oppose this construction. The ZBA had approved this construction pending our approval (letter sent 5/3; CC to Mr. Bibbins).
