Updates/Annoucements/Open Discussion:

Thanks to those who participated and helped-out with our most recent Pot Luck picnic, which was well attended.

Please remember to vote in the 9th Congressional District elections on 10/16!

Members expressed interest in having speakers from NSTAR and Direct T.V.

Washington St. Gateways program will hold a meeting on traffic/parking concerns at their office (40 Waltham St.) on Tuesday 10/30 at 6:30.

Future meeting November and December) will feature presentations by Randi Lathrop of the BRA and Sheila Grove from Washington Gateways. We have been unable to contact Jordan Warshaw (Drucker Co.) for an update on Parcel 8/Atelier.

In response to continued outages, Members request a letter be sent to Nstar indicating dissatisfaction with levels of service (NOTE: letter sent 10/4/01 by Tim Kozlowski, President)

Vice President John MacLachlan has volunteered to contact the City Cable Commission to gather information on service problems.

 

Update on South End Neighborhood Coalition (SENC):

Establishment of the SENC continues. Tim Kozlowski will continue for the time being to act as our delegate with John MacLachlan as his alternate. The goal of the next SENC meeting (10/15) is to officially establish the organization.

The Eight Streets Membership in attendance voted unanimously to join SENC.

 

Update on South End Postal Service concerns:

John MacLachlan has been appointed as a member of the South End Postal Advisory Council. He polled the Membership on mail service concerns. Among the issues he will bring forth at the next meeting are:

The next South End Postal Advisory Council meeting will be 10/9, 5:00 to 7:00 at the South End Branch of the Boston Public Library. While residents are free to attend, the bulk of the time is spent on interaction between the Council and the representatives from the Postal Service.
