Dear Mr. Nuzzo,
At last night's meeting of the Eight Streets Neighborhood Association, Mr. Garrett Harker (General Manager, B&G Oysters, Ltd. and The Butcher Shop - both of which are within our Association's boundaries) and Mr. Christian Straub (Managing Partner, Ultimate Professional Valet Services) were present to seek support of their application for a valet parking license to service both of the above restaurants and to be located in front of B&G Oysters, Ltd. (550 Tremont St.). They propose to have 2 parking spaces available from 5:00 PM until closing (which is 1:00 AM., although they acknowledge that they anticipate that the City may only grant this until Midnight) utilizing a dedicated parking lot at the corner of Columbus Ave. & Berkeley St. (with overflow spaces available at 131 Dartmouth St.).
The Membership of Eight Streets NA feels that a well-managed valet service is of general benefit, and so voted to support this application as described above. Please note that this address is adjacent to an intresection where traffic issues are a constant worry, so if this license is granted we strongly urge the City to please allow two spaces (rather than just one) in order for the valet service to be able to operate efficiently and without causing or exacerbating problems at this location.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns on this subject.
Thank you.
Yours,
